ARE YOU DUNLOPS NUMBER 1 DECORATOR?

A new competition has been launched by Dunlop - beginning a nationwide search in 2016 to find the person who is the number one decorator and multi-skill tiler in the UK.

Colleges providing Further Education (FE) leading to City and Guilds (629) skills qualification in construction have been contacted by Dunlop and asked to provide an entrant for this competition. The profile of a participant would be somebody who has shown outstanding individual skills during training. The Dunlop Multi-Skill competition will begin next year, and Dunlop has stated that it will be committed to providing support any training requirements or products to colleges involved.

Anybody interested in testing their skill, will not have too long to wait, but must first be nominated. Once the nomination process has been completed all individuals involved will compete at the Dunlop Centre for technology and innovation in Stoke in August 2016. This centre has state-of-the-art systems and all of the latest painting and decorating tools and equipment.

Every college nominee will get a trophy that has been personalised and a special Dunlop bag of 'goodies.' The overall winner will get the Trophy and be acclaimed as the Dunlop Multi-Skill champion for 2016. Apart from the accolade, the Champion will also receive tools for tiling and decorating with a value of £500.

Any colleges that enter and participate in the competition will also get some excellent products and services from Dunlop, so well worthwhile. These will include marketing and PR support, Dunlop products and point-of-sale literature for free. As well as this, FEs will be given a free Dunlop training day with expert company technicians on hand to give advice about decorating techniques and also tiling.

A statement by Dunlop invited skilled painter and decorator students to get involved and test their ability against the best in the country. The chance of winning could lead to some great career opportunities, but just taking part will enhance competence and knowledge levels.

The call by Dunlop is to all colleges in the UK to enter into the spirit of the competition and reap some outstanding benefits in return. There is of course only one winner, but nobody that takes part will go away empty handed and will gain from being around the best painting and decorating students in the country.
