Yes, we have an ambitious sustainability strategy with clear goals towards 2025. See a short text and film describing our sustainability strategy here.

In line with our sustainability strategy, we are gradually introducing more and more sustainable raw materials in both products and packaging. For example, we have disposable tray liners in recycled plastic and we buy our wood from responsibly managed forests. Stay tuned for several new product launches addressing sustainability in the future!

We understand that this is a tough pill to swallow for hardened bristle lovers, however, the quality of such natural animal-borne by-product is constantly declining. This decline means that our strive to deliver the best quality products will be hindered, and at Hamilton, we will not let that happen.

CleanEdge™ is a synthetic filament to mimic the structure of natural bristle, outperform it and that has the benefits of being easier to clean, with no need to break in.

CleanEdge™ brushes have shorter, stiffer filaments for accuracy and control when pushing and dragging high viscosity – thicker and less fluid paints. Whereas our MaxStroke™ brushes have longer, finer filaments for a flawless finish with low viscosity – thinner and more fluid paints.

We have developed our brand ranges based around the needs of the user. We recognise that Hamilton is a much-loved brand that all skill levels love to use.

In light of this, Perfection has been developed as our ‘top tier’ offering giving more specific choice and quality for the discerning professional painter and decorator – we know that tools are life and they need to be high quality and last in the long term.

Prestige has been developed to bring more breadth of choice – here you will find every tool you need for a really professional job. This is why our Prestige range holds the vast majority of our tools.

For the Trade range has been developed specifically for the multi-skilled tradesperson – for whom perhaps, painting and decorating is not a full-time focus. Easy speak, no messing, simple choices combined with high quality materials, comfort in use and the advantage of Hamilton expertise.

With our history of innovation and expertise, we know that we are the brand that painters and decorators look to for quality, durability and, most importantly, suitability for the job at hand. Also we’re drastically reducing our use of single-use plastic packaging whilst all our wooden handles will now be FSC® Certified.

The blade is cast in one whole piece so will never break from the handle. Made from high carbon steel to give strength, durability and flexibility. Remember… some other tools in the market are made to look like scale tang, but aren’t – always check!

The answer, quite simply is, yes. Our Prestige brushes have high specification synthetic filaments that have been developed to deliver strong pick-up, steady paint release, accuracy and contol with all paint types.

Our For The Trade PolyBlend rollers deliver quick and easy coverage with reduced spatter across all surfaces. 1 Stripe = Short Pile, 2 Stripes = Medium Pile and 3 Stripes = Long Pile – simple!

This is the name of our technology when producing roller sleeves. Where stated, this means that the sleeve fabric has been heat-fused to the core and bonded – meaning it won’t unwind, even when soaked in water or solvent.

It may be that there was some loose lint/fabric before you started using it – this is normal. When using a brand new roller (not applicable for foam) always dampen your hand first and run it over the sleeve to remove and lose bits that are simply there from the manufacturing process.

Also just double-check you are using the correct roller for the paint you are using.

This will depend on the roller frame / pole that you’re using. Both will be either screw-fit or push-fit – we have extension poles that are suitable for both. You can usually tell quite easily by looking at the frame handle.

All our product features will advise the fitting.
