Dorset cottage refurbishment with SMR

Simon Radestock of SMR gave this Dorset cottage a fresh look by revamping the exterior woodwork with his trusted Hamilton tools and Farrow & Ball eggshell paint.
This beautiful cottage is located near the Dorset coast and sits in a quiet, secluded area only accessible via a single two-mile track. The picturesque location is further enhanced by a natural spring which is used as the main water supply for the residents. The spring water supply must not be excessively contaminated, making Simon’s task of decorating and cleaning out his tools afterwards a challenge.
The client, with guidance from Simon, decided to rejuvenate the exterior woodwork of the home with Farrow & Ball eggshell exterior paint and opted for Lichen.
Given the restrictions around the water supply, Simon opted for Perfection synthetic brushes, a range that not only offered the finish required, but more importantly for this project, allowed for easy cleaning.
The amazing finish was achieved with Farrow & Ball by applying with a mix of flat Perfection synthetic brushes and the angled synthetic brush. The flats were used for the doors and larger parts of the windows with and the angled reserved for the precision cutting in work around the frames.
